Banco Macro, one of Argentina's largest private banks, saw its annual net profit jump to 660 million pesos ($186 million) last year, the company told the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange on Thursday.

The company had previously reported a net profit of 495 million pesos in 2007. It did not provide fourth-quarter earnings information but if no revisions were made to the figures in the first nine months of last year, then the fourth-quarter net should have totaled 184.3 million pesos. ($1 = 3.54 pesos on Dec. 31)
