Schwarzenegger's 'love child' has dropped a bombshell on his family and the media, but for Arnold and Maria things weren't always so bleak. The once happy couple, who are currently going through a public split, were photographed together nearly 30 years ago by famed celebrity photographer, Brad Elterman.

Elterman says of the photo: This was the very first photo of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver taken in Las Vegas at a Kenny Rogers Golden Nugget celebrity softball game.

Maria was not amused when I pointed my camera in her direction. I sold the heck out of it breaking the story that they were together, and then it sat dormant in my archives for decades.

He continues, I ran into Maria a few months ago at a party and we joked about this photo.

Elterman's camera has captured iconic images of Dylan, Bowie, and Lennon, amongst other notable figures, in unique settings from the 70s. He has compiled the images and created the book, Like It Was Yesterday.

Elterman started his career at the age of 16 when he snapped a photo of Bob Dylan performing onstage with a borrowed camera. Since then, his work has been featured in numerous magazines including Rolling Stone, People, and the New York Post.
