The future of the Institute of the Higher Mind (IHM) now lies in Kyle West’s (Josh Henderson) hands.

The synopsis for Season 1, episode 6 of “The Arrangement” reveals that Terrence Anderson (Michael Vartan) needs Kyle’s help to save IHM from a possible scandal.

In the preview clip for the episode, Terrence tells Kyle about a threat that put the future of IHM at risk. “We’re in some trouble,” Terrence tells Kyle. “There’s a detective with LAPD, a woman outside my influence. She has something on us. I need you. I need you to think about everything we fixed for you.”

While it’s unclear how those details will solve IHM’s issue with the LAPD, Kyle refuses to comply with Terrence’s request.

“It’s not happening,” an upset Kyle tells Terrence. “I cannot do what you’re asking me to do!”

“Kyle, I’m not asking,” replies Terrence.

As viewers know, the woman from LAPD Terrence is talking about is Detective Gaffey (Tracy Waterhouse). She has paid Terrence several visits at IHM to ask things about a woman named Sophia, who has gone missing. Sophia took courses at IHM and served as Kyle’s secret live-in sex partner before he met Megan Morrison (Christine Evangelista).

When Megan signed the marriage contract from Kyle’s team, Terrence released Sophia from the arrangement they had with her. But because Sophia didn’t want to be released from their agreement and threatened to ruin IHM as well as Kyle’s career if they let her go, Terrence was forced to lock her up at IHM.

Terrence, however, ordered the release of Sophia back to the real world in Season 1, episode 4 when Detective Gaffey learned new information suggesting that IHM was the one responsible for Sophia’s disappearance.

Also in the upcoming episode, Megan prepares for the opening night of her play while Kyle deals with the reemergence of a controversial person from his past. Meanwhile, DeAnn Anderson (Lexa Doig) discovers a much needed escape from her demanding life as film producer.

“The Arrangement” Season 1, episode 6, titled “Control,” airs on Sunday, April 9 at 10 p.m. EST.
