"Arrow" Season 4, episode 10 will see the return of Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) as he seeks revenge on the man that attacked his fiancée. CW

At long last, the CW will see the return of one of its most popular shows for the first time in 2016. After leaving the first half of Season 4 on a pretty tense cliffhanger, “Arrow” will come back to TV to finally tell fans what happened to the group after the latest attack.

When last we saw Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), he’d just proposed to the love of his life, Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards). Unfortunately, their celebration was cut short when their limo was attacked and shot to pieces by soldiers working for the mysterious villain, Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough). Oliver helped them escape the attack, but Felicity was shot in the process. The episode ended with the question of her being alive or dead left unanswered, meaning fans have been eagerly anticipating the hero’s reaction in episode 10, “Blood Debts.”

“Oliver seeks revenge and goes on a brutal manhunt to find Darhk, after dealing with the devastating consequences of Darhk’s latest attack,” reads the episode’s official TV Guide plot synopsis.

As previously reported, a teaser trailer for the upcoming midseason return highlighted the aforementioned manhunt, showing Oliver don his Green Arrow costume and take to the streets looking for information on where he can find Darhk for a final confrontation. Felicity seems to be undergoing surgery to save her life while her fiancé goes looking for trouble. Although the trailer shows him clearly finding Darhk and engaging in some vengeance-fueled fist-a-cuffs, the mystical bad guy isn’t the only villain fans can expect Team Arrow to brush up against when the show comes back.

After being introduced in the second episode of Season 4, DC comics villain Anarky (Alexander Calvert) will return to the show. Although he was previously introduced in an earlier episode, the character, Lonnie Machin, didn’t take on his full Anarky persona that he has in the comic books just yet. However, given some of the clues in the trailer, it looks like he’s significantly more prepared for his second brush up against Team Arrow, given the new toys and supervillain calling card.

With “Arrow” Season 4 starting out by promising a major character death by the end of the show’s latest run, most fans are dying to see whether Felicity Smoak is still alive. However, thanks to some leaked source material from the set of the show, the answer to that question may have already been revealed. [SPOILER ALERT] As previously reported, images from the set show Felicity in a wheelchair, recovering from her attack. An international trailer for the series, which has since been removed, showed a scene in which Felicity’s mother, Donna Smoak (Charlotte Ross), informs Oliver that she’ll never walk again. CinemaBlend speculates that the evidence is pointing toward a plotline in which Felicity will become the “Arrow” universe’s version of the genius hacker friend to all superheroes, the Oracle.

Fans will have to tune into the “Arrow” midseason return on Jan. 20, at 8 p.m. EST to see how everything turns out.
