If rumors are to be believed then English football giant Arsenal is set to lose leading Dutch striker Robin Van Persie to Real Madrid who is thought to be readying a £30 million ($49 million) bid for the forward.
Real, last season, lost out on most of top prizes due to serious injury to the club’s Argentinean striker Gonzalo Higuain. Real’s French forward Karim Benzema also struggled to find form which left the club struggling.
Real Madrid’s Portuguese boss has now targeted Van Persie, who had a prolific last season scoring 22 goals in just 26 starts, and is set to test Arsenal over the club’s prized Dutchman.
Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has also been linked with Spanish and European champion Barcelona. The club is also set to lose midfielder Samir Nasri and both Emmanuel Eboue and Nicklas Bendtner may leave the club, according to a Metro report.
Van Persie, who is highly regarded for his dribbling and shooting technique, arrived at Arsenal when he signed a four year deal with the club for £2.75 million ($4.48 million). Van Persie has made 156 appearances for Arsenal and has scored 66 times.
