Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed his dream-buy to be Santos star Neymar.

The 19-year-old Brazilian was strongly linked with a move to the Premier League during the summer transfer window, but the player ultimately signed an extension to his contract at Santos. However, rumours continue to persist of a possible move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

However, despite Arsenal getting their hands on a fair bit of cash during the summer, after the sale of Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy, they are unlikely to bid for the £40 million-rated player, whose performances have been at such levels that some have labeled him even better than Barcelona star Lionel Messi, who is widely regarded as the current best player in the planet.

That hasn't stopped Wenger from admitting that he would sign the young star if he could.

Wenger was quoted as saying in The Sun: If I had the money today, I'd put it on Neymar. You can't say that Neymar is Pele as he had won the World Cup by the age of 17.

He has the potential to be one of the future great strikers but at the moment there's a big difference between the Brazilian league and a European league.
