Leonardo DiCaprio to play Gatsby in the upcoming "The Great Gatsby" movie

Just days after it was announced that The Great Gatsby will be released as a video game, it was also announced that the classic novel will make its way to the big screen.

Leonardo DiCaprio is taking on the role of Jay Gatsby, the mysterious millionaire in the famous book by F. Scott Fitzgerald, reports OK! Magazine.

The movie will be filmed in Australia and it will also be in 3D.

According to The Sunday Telegraph of Australia, the film version of the classic book will be filmed in New South Wales. The remainder of the cast includes Cary Mulligan as Daisy Buchanan and Tobey Maguire as Nick Carraway, the narrator of the book.

The last time the film was made for the big screen was in 1974 and it starred Robert Redford and Mia Farrow.
