Sarah Palin on Wednesday called for close media attention and focus on Federal Reserve chief Ben Bernanke's comments on monetary policy and not the White House's release of President Barack Obama's birth certificate.

The former Alaska governor and vice presidential nominee was referring in a Tuesday morning Twitter account post to Bernanke's first ever press conference after the release of a Fed policy statement which set to take place at 2:15 p.m. EST.

She also called on the media to admit the White House released the form because businessman Donald Trump forced the issue.

Media: admit it, Trump forced the issue. Now, don't let the WH distract you w/the birth crt from what Bernanke says today. Stay focused, eh? she wrote.

The White House on Tuesday released a copy of the certificate after the State of Hawaii made an exception to release it.

They granted that exception in part because of the tremendous volume of requests they had been getting, assistant to the President Dan Pfieffer said in a statement.
