A Pakistani military source told the BBC that a wife of Osama Bin Laden confirmed that the al Qaeda terror chief had been living in the Abbottabad compound for five years.

The woman, who is believed to be of Yemeni descent, was one of three of Osama’s wives who were detained held after raid that killed him, said she had not ventured outside of her room since, the official added.

The other two women have not been identified.

The Yemeni woman also told Pakistani officials that she had been shot during the storming of the compound by US special forces. She also stated that late her daughter informed her the girl has seen her father Osama shot to death.

In addition, thirteen children – eleven boys and two girls -- were also living at the compound, he noted. It has not been ascertained by Pakistani officials how many of these children were sired by Osama himself.

The children are now being held in an undisclosed location.
