President Barack Obama is ready to order more covert operations inside Pakistan, similar to the May 2 attack that killed Osama Bin laden to target Al Qaeda or Taliban leaders in order to protect the U.S. and its allies.

Our job is to secure the United States,” he declared.

CIA chief Leon Panetta said that the earlier attack was carried out without informing Pakistani authorities because they feared that Islamabad might disrupt the mission.

The raid has strained ties between the US and Pakistan as Islamabad said it violated its sovereignty.

But Obama said the US would take unilateral action if any al-Qaeda or Taliban leader is further found in Pakistan.

We are very respectful of the sovereignty of Pakistan. But we cannot allow someone who is actively planning to kill our people or our allies' people; we can't allow those kind of active plans to come to fruition without us taking some action, he made it clear.

Pakistan lawmakers had condemned the recent US raid inside Pakistan and had warned that repetition of such attacks and its consequences could disturb the peace and security in the world.

However, Washington’s refusal to disclose pictures of Bin Laden’s corpse and the declaration that he was buried in the sea has kept many minds in doubt about the announcement.

Analysts say the US is looking for an excuse to expand its military operations in the troubled South and Central Asian region to secure bases near Russia and China.
