Amazingly beautiful and sensuous Marilyn Monroe is still ruling the heart of many. Monroe's magic blew away the minds of her fans once again at a Beverly Hills, California auction on Saturday night, in which the iconic white subway dress she wore in the 1955 film The Seven Year Itch sold for $4.6 million.

The dress was the first in a series of auctions to sell a collection of film memorabilia that singer, dancer and actress Debbie Reynolds accumulated over four decades.

Bidders paid another $2.7 million for three other Monroe movie outfits. A red sequined dress and feathered headdress worn by Monroe in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes reached $1.47 million and costumes from There's No Business Like Show Business and River of No Return brought another $1.2 million.

79-year-old Debbie Reynolds was in tears when the auction on The Seven Year Itch dress closed, CNN reported.

Other high-priced costumes that went on sale included Judy Garland's outfit, a blue cotton dress and a pair of ruby slippers, from The Wizard of Oz, a matador outfit worn by Rudolph Valentino for the 1922 film Blood and Sand, World War I military uniform worn by Gary Cooper in the 1941 movie Sergeant York and many more.

One of Charlie Chaplin's trademark bowler hats that worn in many films, sold for $135,300. The velvet brown horse racing outfit worn by Elizabeth Taylor as a child in National Velvet sold for $73,800.
