Suspected gunman Anders Behring Breivik went on a 90 minute shooting spree on Friday on an island near Oslo where at least 85 people have been confirmed dead, Norwegian police said Saturday.
Breivik had two weapons, Police Chief Sveinung Sponheim told reporters at a press conference on Saturday, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Earlier, Breivik was also said by witnesses to have been at the scene of an explosion near a government building in Oslo, where seven people died.
When police finally reached Breivik on the island, he followed commands, according to a police account.
"He put down his weapons," Police Chief Sveinung Sponheim told reporters at a news conference, according to the Los Angeles Times. "It was undramatic."

As of Saturday, it was reported that 85 people had been gunned down at a youth camp in Utoya Island.
A massive explosion at a government building ahead of the island shooting rampage killed at least 7 people.
Police said Saturday that it took 40 minutes for officers to arrive at the island, noting that there had been problems in getting boats to transport officials to the island, where a political gathering of the Worker's Youth League was taking place. The WYL is a youth branch of the country's Labor Party.
