Coffee Increases as Dollar Falls

Coffee gained on Friday as the dollar declined boosting other commodities.

Coffee futures for May delivery increased by 0.5 percent or 0.6 cent to $1.319 a pound on ICE Futures U.S. formerly the New York Board of Trade.

Coffee prices increased by 1.2 percent this week after falling by 14 percent in the previous two weeks.

Coffee posted the highest gain on Feb. 29 when it reached $1.719 a pound.

Coffee was forecasted to trade at $1.40 from $1.30 a pound next week after the prices ranged between $1.262 and $1.3535 since March 24.

Brazil was forecasted to harvest 53.9 million bags starting this month higher than 44.2 million forecasted by the Brazilian government on Jan. 8.
