Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei told Iranians to respect Ahmadinejad's victory in a presidential election that his closest challenger described as a "dangerous charade."

Ahmadinejad's triumph in Friday's vote upset expectations that reformist candidate Mirhossein Mousavi might win the race.

Thousands of Mousavi supporters took part in the protests, some chanting, "What happened to our vote?." Others chanted anti-Ahmadinejad slogans, bringing traffic to a standstill. "We are Iranians too," and "Mousavi is our president," they shouted.

Interior Minister Sadeq Mahsouli, an Ahmadinejad ally, declared the president had been re-elected to a second four-year term with 62.6 percent of the vote, against 33.7 percent for Mousavi, in a record 85 percent turnout.

Mousavi protested against what he called violations and vote-rigging during the election -- allegations rejected by Interior Ministry officials.

"I'm warning I will not surrender to this dangerous charade. The result of such performance by some officials will jeopardize the pillars of the Islamic Republic and will establish tyranny," Mousavi said in a statement made available to Reuters.

In a rare challenge to the authorities, thousands of his supporters defied police warnings that they would confront anyone holding unauthorized protests. Police beat protesters with batons as they spread out across the capital.

In one incident, police on motorcycles beat Mousavi backers who were staging a sit-in protest at the capital's Vanak square.

Mousavi said members of his election headquarters had been beaten "with batons, wooden sticks and electrical rods."

Looks like the good ole US of A didn't get the guy they wanted. And we all know that countries who vote for leaders that don't do what America tells them to do are terrorist sponsors and dictatorships. I bet the CIA is sponsoring, funding and planning the protests to (Obama has already admitted they were behind the first one that happened in Iran). The so called "uneducated rural voters" (according to US corporate controlled media) are very educated and know the MA will stand up for them so the voted for him in massive amounts, you can teach common sense in any University and these people got it (MA won, but the US doesn't want him therefore the elections must be rigged right? lol). The US government have already admitted they will try to destabilize Iran through espionage in new paper reports (people forget fast). Obama you are a liar, a lot of people already know your nice persona in public is just a charade and that you and Bush work for the same people. Learn the truth about the NWO controlled US gov. www.infowars.com. I know the media has already brain washed you into think the NWO doesn't exist and that people who talk about it are just "kooks" but just this once trying thinking for yourself, good luck.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Have you seen this video? You should see this video. "British Jewish Zionist MP Gerald Kaufman says Israel Acting like NAZIs in GAZA" www.youtube.com/watch?v=xEYz00MqCx0 He is talking about the people who are also on the attack against Iran. He should also talk about the ones in the USA who work for AIPAC to push condemnation of Iran. People like Leiberman, Rockefeller, Mrs. Clinton (Jewish ancestory as well), Kissinger (German jew), the White House Chief of Staff was in the Israeli military, etc. are all jews. America is a ZIONIST CONTROLLED NATION. P.S. You should look at the book "Gruesome Harvest" to see what the Jews did to German prisoner of World War 2. You should also look at the Protocols of the Elders of Zion in which they call others Goyim (cattle).

I went searching the Net for any news contrary to the "official" reports. Is this Iran thing just like what Perkins descibed in his interview on the Zeitgeist DVD about "Jackals" and paid protestors to act for the news cameras? Any doubters need to stop and notice how emotion is used to blind people's common sense and judgement. Anyone remember the stories when Iraq invaded Kuwait and G. Bush senior himself (I believe) reported that a nurse witnessed Iraqi soldiers taking babies out of incubators and "placing them on the cold hard floor to die"? Later - years later - we find out the "nurse" was actually a Kuwaiti Princess and she admitted it never happened. History Channel has stories about 911 and they walk hand in hand with the official 911 Commision report...which I just found out last night that over 40 career professionals in FBI, Military, and various other agencies - along with a growing number of architects and engineers (AE911) - are saying that's not the way it happened and we need to take another look at the facts. How about the British agents once caught by Iraqi police driving around shooting people and carrying high explosives and they were in "costume" dressed like Arabs? Maybe the young woman - Neda - was shot by a CIA sniper or Blackwater mercenary to stir things up.... or maybe she's an actress and this was staged - I honestly don't think I can trust what I see and hear on the 'snooze' (news) anymore EXCEPT when I stood in front of the TV alone watching the first tower collapse I said out loud 'that looks like controlled demolition!' and now years later the truth is struggling to break thru the hard ground like a bean sprout - and it WILL - sometimes ' you have to go thru hell before you get to heaven'. Just remember "who you are" and ALWAYS ask questions.
