A group of demonstrators is from Service Employees International Union which were laid off from janitorial positions at Cisco's San Jose headquarters. The demonstrators started making noise just after Chambers made a comment about the annual Cisco event.

In June a worker's union reported on a hunger strike staged by janitors following a layoff in February of 40 percent of Cisco's janitorial staff.

In the first week of June this year, Service Employees International Union website reported that dozen workers staged by janitors strike for a two days hunger strike following a layoff in February of Cisco's janitorial staff.

The union says the janitors were laid off by ABM Janitorial Services and is calling on Cisco to tell ABM to restore the workers.

Chambers paused twice at the start of his speech but later continue his talk after the interruption.

Why don’t you morons channel all of this excess time and energy on finding new jobs or, God forbid, getting yourself some education and improving your lot in life instead of crying and finger pointing. I whitnessed your protest on 30 June and lost any sympathy I had for your cause when your group disrupted the speech being given. If you decide to continue with this idiotic protest, please, try to show some class and conceridation for others in the future.

Bunch of morons protesting a visionary like John C. He is big in giving back and runs 66K direct and more than million indirect households. Grown Cisco 1000 times. Go get some education and improve your life rather than working for these crappy and corrupt unions

Thye should be protesting in Sacramento. More jobs are at stake BECAUSE of unions. State workers are paid modern wages and are working with antiquated systems. It is absolutely ridiculous. Incompetents cannot be fired. Seniority rules. Blah, blah, blah. How about a strike whereby the strikers read for a change?

The entitlement mindset was clear last week if you heard them grumbling as you walked by and did not accept the piece of paper they offered. Rather than go find a job, they'd rather protest. The union is controlling these people. Either out of intimidation or ignorance. The union concept needs to fade into the sunset, but our current president is beholden and agrees with their mindset, so he will prop them back up again. Sad times in America. And seeing this protest just cemented by negative feelings for unions.

Can you say LOSER? Holy crap - you'd think these people were the only ones who've lost a job lately. I saw these find folks when I was there last week. All I wanted to do is shout "INS" to see how many of them ran for the hills. By the way.. there were like 15 of them. So the story is much bigger than the actual effect.
