An internal memo from the management of Sprint is suggesting that the carrier is set to launch the iPhone 5, Apple's fifth-generation iPhone, in early October.

"Due to the possibility of a major phone launch in October we are blacking out September 30th through October 15th," the memo states.

Whenever a major device launch is at hand, vacation blackouts are common at carriers so as to ensure retail locations are well-staffed to deal with increased foot traffic.

There have be numerous reports that Sprint will launch the iPhone 5 in October.

BGR reported last week that Best Buy was already gearing up for preorders as the smartphone is expected early next month.
