Here is the list of the top 10 iPhone Apps that made a name for themselves in 2011.

SPY Mouse: This game by Electronic Arts heads the chart of the most downloaded and, surprising enough, it has recently surpassed the popularity of both Angry Birds and Angry Birds Season. The game tells about Agent Squeak, a spy mouse, who is a super-secret operative serving the needs of mice everywhere. You can sneak, scamper and snack your way through 70+ deviously challenging levels, with six unique worlds, full of adventure, each with their own diabolical hench-cat to outwit. The game released in Aug. 30 and is available for $0.99. SPY Mouse is also available in Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish.

Angry Birds Season: The second game in the list is from Rovio. It is the 3000-year-old harvest festival and it is one of the most important Chinese holidays. The pigs, however, think they can hide themselves in the midst of all the celebrations. Chase off the pigs in 30 brand new levels that are filled with pagodas, rabbits, and red lanterns, lit by a dazzling harvest moon. The new version 1.60 has also made Mighty Eagle available. The app is available for $0.99.

Angry Birds: Again the original Rovio game that took the world by storm. Use the unique destructive powers of the Angry Birds to lay waste to the pigs’ fortified castles. The game features hours of gameplay, challenging physics-based castle demolition, and lots of replay value. Each of the 288 levels requires logic, skill, and brute force to crush the enemy. The new version 1.63 takes the adventure deep into their subterranean lair. Help the birds finish off those greedy piggies with your best bird-flinging moves in stylish new underground levels. There are 15 new levels and an epic conclusion of Mine and Dine. The game is available for $0.99.

Plants vs. Zombies: Brand new game from PopCap for the iPhone. The game has won more than 20 Game of the Year awards. You take on a mob of zombies who are about to invade your home. Use your arsenal of 49 zombie-zapping plants — peashooters, wall-nuts, cherry bombs and more — to destroy 26 types of zombies before they break down your door. Conquer all 50 levels of Adventure mode through day, night, fog, in a swimming pool, on the rooftop and more. You can earn 25 iPhone-exclusive achievements and show off your zombie-zapping prowess. The new version 1.8 provides Chinese zombies. The app is available for $0.99.
