Miss Universe 2011 Winner: Leila Lopes the First Miss Universe From Angola [Photos]

Miss Angola, Leila Lopes, is crowned Miss Universe 2011, beating out 89 contestants.

Miss Angola is the first contestant from Angola to become first Miss Universe.

The top five contestants have also been announced. They are Miss Ukraine, Miss Philippines, Miss China, Miss Brazil, apart from Miss Angola, who finally won the crown.

The first Miss Universe from Angola, Leila Lopes, has made her country proud by winning the most prestigious beauty pageant in the world.

Born in Benguela, Angola, Lopes is a business management student in Great Britain.

The contestants were judged on the basis of three rounds- swimsuit, evening gown and an interview.

The judges asked Miss Angola the final question: "If you could change one of your physical characteristics, which one would it be and why?” She modestly and very frankly replied that she was very happy the way she was.

“Thank God, I am very satisfied with the way God created me and I wouldn't change a thing. I am beautiful and principled,” she answered.

She said, “I consider myself a woman endowed with inner beauty. I have acquired many wonderful principles from my family and I intend to follow these for the rest of my life.”

She replaces last year's winner, Ximena Navarrete of Mexico.
