Robin van Persie continues to raise eye brows in the Premier League, and the Arsenal forward was in top form with one of his best goals of the season, as the Gunners defeated Everton at Emirates Stadium, 1-0.

In the 70th minute, Alex Song drove a fantastic pass to van Persie in the box, and the Dutch star drilled a momentous left-footed volley that Tim Howard could do nothing about.

Van Persie's gorgeous finish was one that will likely replay on multiple occasions.

It was a frustrating game for Arsenal until that point. The Gunners were consistently thwarted by an efficient Everton defense, and by Arsenal's inability to connect on crosses.

There was an inordinate amount of offsides calls in the match, as both clubs failed to put much pressure on the goalkeepers.

Young Conor McAleny made his debut, and almost evened the match with an excellent shot that just went wide, in the final moments of the match.

Everton took 10 shots, with none on goal, while Arsenal took 14 shots with three on goal. Arsenal controlled possession for 62 percent of the match.
