Samsung Galaxy S3 Expected in February

The Samsung Galaxy S3, rumored to be the next flagship smartphone from the South Korean electronics giant, is expected to be launched in February, according to the latest reports, at the 2012 Mobile World Congress to be held in Barcelona.

Incidentally, Samsung launched the Galaxy S2 at the same venue last year.

As per reports, the Galaxy S3 will have a new Exynos processor - the Exynos 4412. This is a 32nm quad-core chip based on the ARM Cortext A9 architecture, which means the processor will be upgraded from a dual-core to a quad-core chip.

In addition, the S3 will have 2GB of RAM (the S2 had 1GB), which will make handling multitasking and gaming more effective. The phone is expected to run on the Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, have a 12 megapixel camera and a 4.6-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen at 1280 × 720-pixel resolution supporting LTE.

In addition the physical buttons for - Home - as well as - Back - and - Settings - on the front, may be removed to allow for virtual buttons onscreen.
