Fear not, Chuck Norris isn't dead, but he is the victim of a new Facebook scam that claims he died on video.

Chuck Norris dies at age 71! Not a joke. See the video to find out how he died, reads the message spotted by security company Sophos, on Wednesday.

Of course, there was no video, instead a link to a survey scam promising and iPad 2 or Sony Bravia HDTV in exchange for contact and other personal information.

Facebook scammers often use celebrity names and sensational headlines to lure people into their scams and there's money to be made in the process. By driving traffic onto these sites they earn commission and for every survey completed, they get a bonus.

If you come across the Chuck Norris dies at age 71 link, don't be tempted by the video (remember there isn't one) Just ignore it and report the link to Facebook security.

Meanwhile in other news, Norris recently made headlines for endorsing Newt Gingrich's presidential campaign. The action star took to penning a column for the Word New Daily, where he said, Ginrich has the experience, leadership, knowledge, wisdom, faith and even humility to learn from his failures (personal and public) can return America to her glory days. And he is the best man left on the battlefield who is able to outwit, outplay and outlast Obama and his campaign machine.
