Nike has presented its Team USA basketball uniforms for the 2012 Olympics in London.

One word to describe them is light.

The Nike Hyper Elite Basketball Uniform combines Nike's lightest, most technologically advanced textiles with iconic graphics, which helps boost players' performance and communicates the pride of USA Basketball, according to Nike's Web site.

Both the Team USA basketball jersey and shorts utilize Nike Aerographics, a fabric created in 2008 that acts as a cooling solution, and further refined for the Summer Games. Nike says it allows for greater design and graphic flexibility and also contributes to performance by increasing air circulation.

The Nike Hyper Elite Jersey is Nike's lightest jersey to date with a breathable and durable design using a Nike Aerographics 3D-structured Dri-FIT fabric, made of 96 percent recycled polyester. The fabric helps pull sweat away from the skin and reduce cling while a functional flock screenprint on the inside of the collar provides further sweat management. The jersey's V-neck collar, hem vents and modified armholes are supposed to make the player more mobile while the slim fit is supposed to reduce bulkiness.

The jersey's design includes bold, blocky graphics, including contrast red, white and blue color blocking, blue colored stars and stripes on the back and a country-specific battle cry on the inside of the neck.

The Nike Hyper Elite Shorts, which weigh in at five ounces (14 ounces lighter than the average shorts currently worn by professional players), have the same Dri-FIT fabric as the jersey as well as four-way stretch fabric for mobility and comfort. They also feature 100 percent recycled polyester material with laser-cut perforations and a waistband, which both supply more ventilation.

The design of the shorts includes a red, white and blue star with a basketball of the same colors fixated in the middle.

The uniform will be worn by other national teams including China, Brazil and other teams attempting to qualify, according to Nike's press release.
