Renowned gadget geeks from the iFixit tech blog have completed another Apple gear teardown with their un-building of the new iPad 3. Using the most exacting tools and an eye for gadget guts, iFixit try to give readers a chance to peek inside the iPad and see just what all the fuss is about. The team even flew to Melbourne, Austrailia to pick up an iPad the first day it went on sale. iFixit was first in line, even.

iFixit used a heat gun to separate the glass display from the tablet body. From there, all the goodies pop out. Apple's new customized A5X processor, iSight camera and 4G LTE antenna are shown up close and with excellent lighting. If you're curious how Apple can get so much awesomeness out of a $500 tablet, this might be the photo spread for you.

iPad 3 features a first of-its-kind super high-definition display that has many observers pretty much dazzled. Oh, it looks like an iPad 2 at a distance; same size, shape, color and body design. It's just the display has a million more pixels than even an HDTV. It's also the first iPad to run on a high-speed data network like AT&T or Verizon's LTE networks. Start the slideshow to see the gory guts of a technolgy champ. Tell us in the comments if you'd like to see the iFixit team use something a bit less precise next time, like a hammer or band saw.
