The epic Harry Potter book series is finally available in E-book format and can be purchased from J.K. Rowling's new Pottermore online bookstore.

All seven novels are on sale in digital format and are compatible with all major e-readers including: Apple's iPad, Amazon's Kindle and the Barnes & Noble Nook.

The e-books are priced at $7.99 for the first three books and then $9.99 for the rest. The entire Harry Potter collection is available for $57.54. The books can be purchased in U.S and British English and the French, Italian, German and Spanish versions are coming soon.

Digital audio books are also available on the site priced at $29.99 for the first three books, $ 44.99 for the remaining books and $242.94 for the whole set.

For years our customers have loved reading Harry Potter books in print, and have made them the best-selling print book series on Amazon.com, said Russ Grandinetti, Vice President of Kindle Content. We're excited that Harry Potter fans worldwide are now able to read J.K. Rowling's fantastic books on their Kindles and free Kindle reading apps.

Both the e-books and audio books can be sent to friends as gifts by providing their email addresses.

J.K Rowling has spent years resisting the e-book format for her books, but she says the time has come to give it a try.

I wanted to give something back to the fans that have followed Harry so devotedly over the years, and to bring the stories to a new digital generation, the author said in a YouTube video. I hope fans and those new to Harry will have as much fun helping to shape Pottermore as I have.

Rowling's site, Pottermore, will be the exclusive publishing platform for the e-books, bypassing other online outlets such as Amazon and Apple's iBookstore.

The Pottermore Website will eventually be more than a platform to buy Harry Potter Books. The Site aims to give Harry Potter lovers a unique and exciting appearance, which surrounds the story of the wizard.

The main site is currently in Beta format, but will be opening to the general public soon. Current Pottermore users may notice some new students in the Great Hall and common rooms over the next few days. We've made some updates to pottermore.com in the past week, and some of our partners are helping us test these changes as we prepare to open to everyone in early April, the site's latest update says.
