Fast-food chain Burger King announced a new menu on Monday in an attempt to revive the brand and win over new customers with healthier and tastier meal options. The company also changed the overall look of Burger King, donning its employees with fresh new uniforms, and even reached out to a handful of celebrities to help promote the company's new items, including David Beckham, Jay Leno, Mary J. Blige, and Salma Hayek.

We wanted to make sure we went out with a message that caught people's attention, said Alexandre Macedo, senior VP of marketing for Burger King North America. The reaction we want from consumers is, 'I want to go out and taste it myself.'

Yet, despite the excitement surrounding the revamping of the overall brand, the emphasis is still on the food. Burger King, which competes with McDonald's, Wendy's and Subway, has taken a page from those brands by deciding to offer healthy and specialty items, such as new salads, coffee drinks, and finally, smoothies. The move is likely a reaction to Wendy's unseating Burger King's reputation as the No. 2 burger chain in America.

Consumers wanted more choices, said Steve Wiborg, president of Burger King's North America operations. Not just healthy choices, but choices they could get at the competition.

There are 14 brand-new menu items on Burger King's revamped menu, but these five take the cake. Read about them, then go give them a try!

Strawberry Banana Smoothie (310 calories): Nothing's more refreshing than a nice fruit smoothie, and Burger King has finally installed some smoothie blenders into its franchises. The strawberry banana smoothie gives you plenty of sweetness, making it the perfect pick-me-up snack for a mid-day sugar craving.

Chicken, Apple & Cranberry Garden Fresh Salad (520 calories): Trade in your traditional chicken caesar salad or garden side salad for a newfangled salad: the tangy Chicken, Apple & Cranberry Garden Fresh Salad is more than worth the price of admission. With sweet, crispy apples to offset the tangy bleu cheese crumbles and dried cranberries, this salad is a great representation of Burger King's move towards flavor.

New 5 Piece Chicken Strips (610 calories): Sometimes, a simple order of delicious chicken tenders is exactly what the doctor ordered. Burger King's new chicken strips feature premium all-white meat chicken, which has been marinated and battered in Burger King's addictive crunchy breading mixture. With new sauces like smoky jalepeno BBQ sauce, these tenders are definitely worth trying.

Honey Mustard Crispy Chicken Snack Wrap (390 calories): Need a bite on the go? The new Honey Mustard Crispy Chicken Snack Wrap will keep you energized to wherever you're heading next. The crispy white meat chicken is surrounded by premium lettuces, a three cheese medley, and a deliciously tangy honey mustard sauce that borders addiction. In the land of the snack wraps, the Honey Mustard Crispy Chicken Snack Wrap is king.

BK Mocha Frappe (510 calories): Dessert doesn't always need to be a cake, a pie, or a sundae. The new BK Mocha Frappe is characterized by a deep, decadent chocolate flavor, mixed in with some light whipped cream and a hint of coffee. It's a sweet dessert that won't weigh you down, but won't let you down either.
