‘Assassin’s Creed 3’ Release Date Could Be Delayed Due To Lawsuit, Ubisoft ‘Directly Copied’ Author [VIDEO]
Author John Beiswenger has just filed a lawsuit against video game publisher Ubisoft claiming that the company's "Assassin's Creed" franchise directly copied ideas from his own story. If Beiswenger succeeds, this could mean fans won't be seeing a third "Assassin's Creed" game, or at least not anytime soon. Ubisoft

The world premiere of the first gameplay footage from Assassin's Creed 3 launched on May 10th. Ubisoft's next installment of the stealthy action adventure franchise will take place during the American Revolution, is set for an Oct. 30th release date.

The company just launched a viral online campaign to promote social media sharing earlier this week, encouraging fans to fill the Unlock Meter by tweeting and posting on the game's Facebook Timeline wall.

But fans are finally getting their first real taste of what the next Assassin's Creed installment will entail with the world gameplay premiere. Protagonist Connor narrates the trailer, which begins with British redcoats marching across a snowy frontier.

On this land, I am torn, the partially Native American character says. Part of me wants to fight and repel all outsiders. The other part of me is the outsider.

Connor's voice overs are mixed with gameplay footage depicting the tree-hopping early American frontier action that was expected for the game. Blood splatter snow, battles with grizzly bears, and Revolutionary warfronts are only part of the action depicted in the trailer.

The future of our land depends on those who are truly free, Connor says in the two-minute long preview.
