ASUS has chosen to roll out the next tablet - Eee Pad Transformer Prime TF700T - in the Transformer Prime series after the predecessor had some design flaw. However, the tablet has to deal with the iconic Apple Inc.'s iPad 2, as the benchmark for design and performance has been set by the California giant.

Added to the specifications of its predecessor, ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime TF700T comes with a bigger battery, better screen resolution, new back panel, and a 2 megapixel front-facing camera.

ASUS Transformer Prime TF700T features a 10.1-inch Super IPS + LCD Gorilla Glass display with 1920 x 1200 screen resolution. It is powered by an Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A9 CPU, ULP GeForce GPU and offers 1GB RAM and 32/64 GB internal storage, which can be further expanded by another 32GB via microSD card.

It sports a rear-facing 8 megapixel LED flash camera with 1080p video playback and a secondary 2 megapixel front-facing camera. Transformer Prime TF700T optimizes Google Inc.'s latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. The Asus tablet has a 25 Wh battery, compared to the predecessor's 22 Wh.

Transformer Prime is the first tablet to have the NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor. Tegra 3 brings a number of significant advancements over the dual-core Tegra 2. Technically, Tegra 3 has five cores and it's the fifth core that really makes the difference. This is called the companion core.

ASUS uses IPS technology in the Prime and maximum brightness is at 584cd/m2. It has a good screen on which to watch high definition movies and play games, delivering excellent blacks and viewing angles because of the Super IPS+ Panel technology packed inside.
