AT&T has resumed placing orders from iPhone orders on its website, the company said on Monday according to media reports.

Over the weekend, the network carrier blocked the sale of the handsets to New Yorkers. The company spokesman told us that the wireless carrier periodically modifies (its) promotions and distribution channels.

AT&T said it has resumed online iPhone sales in New York City, according to the Associate Press.

Macworld’s user forums indicated that as of Monday morning, AT&T was telling customers that the iPhone was unavailable for purchase online in certain zip codes due to “increased fraudulent activity.”

Over the weekend, AT&T service reps were telling customers that the iPhone wasn’t available in New York City because the nation’s most populous city didn’t have “enough towers to handle the phone, according to Consumerist.
