Britt Nilsson and Kaitlyn Bristowe are ready to find love on “The Bachelorette” – but the two single ladies had a rough time getting to this point. The two women were part of the 30 contestants that appeared on Chris Soules’ season of “The Bachelor.” They entered with the hope of settling down with Prince Farming, but instead they had their hearts broken. Viewers are ready to watch their new journey, but how did they come to star on Season 11 of the hit ABC reality show?

Britt

Britt, a 28-year-old waitress from Hollywood, was the first one out of the limo and had an immediate connection with Chris. On their first night, Britt slipped him a note for a “free hug,” and he redeemed that by the end of the evening. Chris ultimately ended up giving her the first impression rose, sparking immediate jealousy in the other contestants.

The jealousy went both ways with Britt. Although Chris showered her with attention as the season progressed, he also rewarded other women with group date roses. Britt felt like she was getting mixed signals from Chris, which made her upset. In week 4 she let her feelings get the best of her and confronted Chris about Kaitlyn. She accused Kaitlyn of acting inappropriate and questioned Chris about why he would be interested in pursuing a relationship with someone like that. Britt’s confrontation made Chris address the whole group before the rose ceremony, telling those doubting his intentions to leave.

Although they hit a little hiccup with her confrontation about Kaitlyn, they were back on track in week 5 when they had their first one-on-one date. It was in that episode that “The Bachelor” viewers learned that Britt “doesn’t shower” and puts her makeup on before bed. That weird knowledge aside, the pair had a romantic hot air balloon date and later returned to Chris’ suite at the hotel to nap and talk about how many kids they wanted. The other girls were not happy when they found out about Britt “napping” in Chris’ room, and things only became more heated when Chris secretly whisked Britt away for a Big & Rich concert in week 6.

The romance crumbled in week 7 and Chris told her to leave if she wanted to. Britt took him up on that, and pulled him aside before the rose ceremony in week 8. She seemingly wanted Chris to fight for her and tell her to stay, but instead Chris said that he was beginning to question her honesty. He had heard from the other girls that she wasn’t sincere. Britt wanted to know who had bad mouthed her, but Chris would only say that her actions are not something that he’s looking for in a wife. She left in tears, and Chris told the cameras that he thought it “was for the best.”

Kaitlyn

Kaitlyn, a 29-year-old dance instructor from Vancouver, had the best limo arrival during “The Bachelor” premiere. Using her sense of humor to break the ice, Kaitlyn told Chris that he could “plow the f--- out of my field any day.” Her boldness shocked him, but it worked in her favor because she received the first rose during the elimination ceremony.

By week 3, Kaitlyn had her first one-on-one date with Chris … at Costco. Although not the most romantic and exciting date, the pair had fun and were able to laugh about the experience. They didn’t get to spend the whole day alone though. Late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel surprised them during dinner as their third wheel. Kaitlyn showed Chris that she had the chops to keep up with Jimmy, and he rewarded her with a rose.

The brunette beauty consistently landed in Chris’ top batch of girls, and Kaitlyn really opened up to him during the hometown dates. Unfortunately that wasn’t enough to prove him that she was the one. Although they both admitted to falling in love with each other during the fantasy suite date in week 9, he ended up eliminating her during that rose ceremony. She left in tears, humiliated and confused over why he chose to send her home.

While things didn’t work out between Chris Soules, the ladies have another chance at love on “The Bachelorette.” Britt and Kaitlyn will meet 25 single and sexy men in the premiere … but the catch is that only one of them will be able to go on the journey. It’ll be up to the bachelors to decide if they could see a future with Britt or Kaitlyn. Season 11 of the ABC show kicks off on Monday, May 18 at 9 p.m. EDT and will continue for a second night on Tuesday, May 19 at 8 p.m. EDT.
