Kurt Aaron, a meteorologist in Scranton, Pennsylvania, was just about to give his local weather report on Monday evening when he was interrupted by a four black bears - a mother bear and her three cubs - in an episode caught on video which scared the weatherman to death.

The bear appearance happened on Monday evening during the 11 p.m. weather forecast on ABC News affiliate WNEP-TV in Scranton during the segment in the backyard with lush trees and a fountain. The four bears strolled onto the set, forcing Aaron to read his report indoors.

According to The Associated Press, Kurt Aaron said he heard something behind him and saw a black bear about 10 feet away, forcing him to do the live report inside the studio.

I walked out there, and I turn around and I hear the sound - and the bear's literally ten feet from me! Aaron said. And I ran like I stole something, I'm not gonna lie!

Kurt Aaron said the bear was big...and she didn't look very happy.

The crew delivered a short forecast from inside, while a high-pitched alarm sounded to scare the bear off.

We are located at the base of a mountain and we've had raccoons, skunks and all sorts of critters and creatures come through our backyard, Carl Abraham, news director for WNEP, told ABCNews.com. But I don't recall us ever having a mother and three cubs roll on through.

Abraham said no one was hurt during the bear disturbance.

WNEP-TV typically hosts their weather forecast outside in the backyard, according to Abraham, and has no plans to change their location.

This was one of the rare times that we were forced, besides severe weather, to do the forecast from the inside of the building, he said. It's just one of those things. It's just Mother Nature, so there's not much you can do sometimes. We don't have any plans to change. We'll always do it outside.
