“Beauty and the Beast” Season 3 will premiere on Thursday, but some fans might not remember where it left off. After nearly a year on hiatus, it’s understandable if your memory is a little fuzzy. Let’s remember the important plot points from the “Beauty and the Beast” Season 2 finale.

Repeating History: Catherine (Kristin Kreuk) discovered that her ancestor Rebecca had very similar experiences with Alistair. Cat was worried that she would repeat history with Vincent (Jay Ryan), and she wanted to protect her love. She locked up Vincent and used the gem to suppress his powers so that he wouldn’t go after Gabe (Sendhil Ramamurthy) and get killed. However, Cat soon realized that leaving Vincent alone and vulnerable to an attack could be just as dangerous. She decided to let Vincent go.

The End of Gabe: Cat was back and forth between Gabe and Vincent last year, but Gabe ruined his romantic chances at the end of Season 2 when he went off the deep end. He became a beast again, and in an effort to provoke Vincent, Gabe killed Agent Knox (Anthony Ruivivar) and seriously injured JT (Austin Basis) in the finale. Once Catherine let Vincent out of his cage, they went after Gabe together. Vincent went into full beast mode and fought him until Catherine used the gem to suppress Gabe’s beast powers. She revealed that JT had all the evidence necessary to put Gabe in jail for murder. The evil beast wasn’t happy with that and attacked Cat with a broken bottle, but she impaled him with a pool stick, killing him.

Work: Catherine got her detective badge back, and Vincent was cleared of any charges against him. They went to the hospital to visit JT and government agents there. They were the same men who got Vincent out of prison in an earlier episode to run tests on him. They offered Vincent and Cat jobs working for a secret agency, but they didn’t make a decision about the new job in the Season 2 finale.

When “Beauty and the Beast” Season 3 premieres, fans will see that Vincent didn’t take the job and wanted to return to normal life as a doctor. However, Cat may have taken the position. She’ll be hiding her involvement with the secret government agents, but eventually, she’ll have to tell her boyfriend about it. This could put a serious obstacle in the way of Vincent’s plans. While Cat wants to hunt super humans, Vincent wants to get married.

“Beauty and the Beast” Season 3 premieres Thursday at 8 p.m. EDT on the CW.
