BRUSSELS, March 1 - Belgium's dominant telecom operator Belgacom (BCOM.BR) may offer electricity deals to help diversify its activities, Belgian daily Le Soir reported.

The former state monopoly is talking with Belgian energy supplier Lampiris to resell electricity and could buy a stake in the group, the newspaper cited a source as saying.

Lampiris, which offers electricity generated from renewable sources, buys its electricity mainly from independent Belgian suppliers. It does not have its own production facilities.
