There are just eight days remaining until the 149th running of the Belmont Stakes. With both the Kentucky Derby winner and Preakness winner skipping the final leg of the Triple Crown, one of the top contenders entering the Triple Crown remains a solid favorite.

Classic Empire, trained by Mark Casse, has mostly hovered around 2/1 odds for the Belmont since the Preakness Stakes on May 20 and no other contender has made a serious push to cut into the odds. At the Derby, Classic Empire finished fourth and the proceeded to finish second at the Preakness.

On Thursday, Conquest Mo Money joined Derby winner Always Dreaming and Preakness winner Cloud Computing in withdrawing from the Belmont Stakes. Conquest Mo Money will instead run in the Grade 2, $500,000 Woody Stephens Stakes on the Belmont Stakes undercard, according to co-owner Tom McKenna.

Conquest Mo Money was listed at 12/1 odds on Wednesday, according to Bovada.lv. Always Dreaming had been listed as a 16/1 longshot and Cloud Computing had been given 9/1 odds.

The current field has 13 horses, though the odds have not shifted for Classic Empire. However, the odds for Japan-based Epicharis dropped from 19/4 to 5/1. The rest of the field's odds didn't change for the 1 1/2-mile race.

Thirteen horses raced in 2016, with Creator winning by a nose. Creator had opened at 10/1 odds. Preakness winner Exaggerator had 1/1 odds entering the race and finished 11th.
