Ben Affleck will no longer be part of Netflix’s “Triple Frontier.”

Affleck was set to top bill “Triple Frontier” after both Tom Hardy and Channing Tatum declined the lead role due to conflicts in their schedule. However, the “Justice League” star has decided not to continue with the project anymore, citing his health and his family as his reasons for backing out.

An insider told People that the father-of-three will focus on his well-being and co-parenting his three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner. “Ben’s family still remains of the utmost importance to him,” the source said.

According to Deadline, “Triple Frontier” will move forward without Affleck and the team behind the movie has already started casting for the lead role. “Triple Frontier” was originally set up at Paramount. However, after struggling to reduce the growing budget, the studio decided to halt the project. When Hardy and Tatum left, the movie was moved to Netflix, with Affleck being eyed for the lead role. Now that the actor has decided to exit, the streaming giant will have to look for a new leading man, Variety reported.

The action thriller “Triple Frontier” has faced a lot of obstacles on top of actors leaving the project. Initially, Kathryn Bigelow was on board to helm the film, but she also backed out a few years ago. J.C. Chandor replaced her. She remains one of the executive producers, along with Stephen Jones, Neil Dodson, Anna Gerb and Mark Boal, who writes the script. Meanwhile, Charles Roven and Alex Gartner of Atlas Entertainment are producing.

Despite him backing out of a new project, Affleck is still expected to attend the San Diego Comic-Con this week to promote his upcoming superhero flick, “Justice League.”

In other news, Affleck recently received an award for his humanitarian works. In his speech, he subtly mentioned his ex Garner and how their eldest daughter was not impressed with his recognition because her mom had already received it.

Affleck received the award for his dedication to helping the people in Congo. The actor established nonprofit organization Eastern Congo Initiative to help the locals in the country.

In an Instagram post, Affleck expressed his pride and joy for the opportunity to help. “Every time I visit, I leave even more inspired there will be a brighter and more peaceful future for the Congolese. The challenges are real, and the road is long, but the Congolese are the hardest working and most hopeful people I know,” Affleck wrote in the caption. “It’s the honor of a lifetime to support Congo. My heart will forever be there with them.”
