Ben Affleck has received a recognition for his humanitarian work, but his 11-year-old daughter Violet was not impressed.

On Sunday, Affleck, 44, was given a humanitarian award at the Starkey Hearing Foundation Gala in St. Paul, Minnesota. When the two-time Oscar winner gave his acceptance speech, he shared an anecdote involving his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, 45, and eldest child, Violet. Affleck told the audience that the “Alias” star was also honored for her philanthropic work at last year’s gala. “When I told my oldest daughter that I was getting this award, she said, ‘Yeah, Dad. Mom already has that one,’” Affleck said in his speech, as quoted by Us Weekly.

The actor reportedly choked up at the beginning of his speech after he was introduced by his business partner, Whitney Williams, who was as emotional as him during the event.

Affleck received the recognition for his dedication to the nonprofit organization Eastern Congo Initiative, which he established with Williams in 2010. The “Justice League” star traveled to Congo, Africa in June.

In fact, he shared an emotional post on Instagram about his trip when he got home. In the photo, Affleck can be seen facing a mountain.

It was his 10th trip to the country after he founded the Eastern Congo Initiative seven years ago. The organization is dedicated to investing in the Congolese people. Garner’s estranged husband was happy to meet his old friends, the grantees and their new partners.

He visited several coffee communities and sat down with women and girls who survived sexual violence. The organization, together with their longtime grantee La Dynamique des Femmes Juris, helped those women bring their cases to court, receive medical support and psychological counseling.

“Every time I visit, I leave even more inspired there will be a brighter and more peaceful future for the Congolese. The challenges are real, and the road is long, but the Congolese are the hardest working and most hopeful people I know,” Affleck wrote in the caption. “It’s the honor of a lifetime to support Congo. My heart will forever be there with them.”

In other news, Affleck is back in the dating game after filing for divorce earlier this year. The “Batman” star is reportedly seeing “Saturday Night Live” producer Lindsay Shookus. The couple has been spotted several times already after their romance was publicized earlier this month.
