The Cumberbaby has arrived! Benedict Cumberbatch’s wife Sophie Hunter gave birth to a boy, the couple announced Saturday.

“Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are delighted to announce the arrival of their beautiful son," the actor's representative told Us Weekly. "We would kindly ask everyone to respect the family's privacy during these next few precious weeks.”

Cumberbatch and Hunter met in 2009 while working on the film “Burlesque Fairytales.” Rumors they were dating started after they were spotted together at the French Open in June 2014. In November, they announced their engagement via the London Times and Hunter's pregnancy was confirmed in January.

The request for privacy isn’t very surprising to the "Sherlock" actor's fans. Cumberbatch, 38, and Hunter, 37, have been sure to keep most aspects of their relationship out of the public eye. The two managed to keep their Valentine’s Day wedding fairly secret with less than 100 guests on the Isle of Wright in England and only a few paparazzi photos leaked.

The couple chose not to reveal any specific details about their son. The baby’s name or date of birth is currently unknown. However, fans on Twitter have taken to guessing what the child’s name might be. Since Benedict Cumberbatch is quite a unique name, the hypothetical names from Twitter users are just as long and unusual.
