World’s tallest buildings have been much talked about and it seems real estate companies refuse to withdraw from the race of building more skyscrapers.

Saudi billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin Talal unveiled plans during a news conference in Riyadh on August 2, 2011, to build the world's tallest tower in the Red Sea port city of Jeddah, signing a 4.6 billion riyal ($1.23 billion) contract with Bin Laden Group, Reuters reported.

Dubai's Burj Khalifa is currently the tallest building in the world, followed by the Taipei 101 in Taiwan, the Shanghai World Financial Center in China, Hong Kong's International Commerce Center, the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, the Nanjing Greenland Center in Yingtan, Chicago's Willis Tower, the Guangzhou West Tower, Shanghai's Jinmao Tower and more.
