Blac Chyna will soon join a long list of celebrity moms who ate her placenta after giving birth. The 28-year-old model, who’s pregnant with her second child, revealed recently that she’s aware of the health benefits of eating placenta and plans to turn hers into pills once her daughter is born.
“I feel like with my second baby, I’m more educated than the first one,” she explained during an appearance Wednesday on the podcast Play. It’s Loveline with Amber Rose (via Us Weekly). “Just reading and knowing the pros of breast-feeding for your baby, and just recently I found out some new, cool stuff about not cutting the cord and sending your placenta; you can get these pills to take them after to make you and the baby healthy.”
Chyna continued: “If you notice dogs and cats, when they have their babies, they eat the placenta. You’re like, ‘No, don’t do that!’ But they do, it’s a healthy thing.”
Chyna, who has a 3-year-old son with her ex Tyga, announced she was pregnant in May. The pregnancy news came a few short weeks after she and Rob Kardashian revealed they were engaged. On the premiere of their “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” spinoff show “Rob & Chyna,” the couple revealed they’re expecting a baby girl. They have not said what they plan on naming their daughter.
Earlier this week, Chyna took to Instagram to share a sonogram picture of her daughter, writing: “@robkardashian and I can’t wait to meet our baby girl.” The once recluse sock designer posted the same image, writing: “Can’t wait to meet my beautiful baby girl !! @blacchyna looking forward to that bond more than anything.”
Chyna is far from the only celebrity mom to dabble in placenta eating. Her soon-to-be sister-in-law Kourtney Kardashian is a huge fan of it. Last year, the mom of three shared an Instagram photo of her placenta pills, telling her fans that she was running out of them. “Yummy… PLACENTA pills! No joke… I will be sad when my placenta pills run out. They are life changing! #benefits #lookitup.”
