Samsung Electronics and five other Samsung companies are investing a combined $1 billion in Helix Digital Infrastructure, an artificial intelligence infrastructure company backed by KKR, Nvidia, the Kuwait Investment Authority and U.S. power company Vistra.

Samsung Electronics will invest $500 million, while Samsung C&T, Samsung SDS, Samsung SDI, Samsung Life Insurance and Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance will contribute the remaining $500 million, Samsung said Tuesday.

The investment will support Helix's work across AI data centers, power infrastructure and connectivity. Samsung said its companies will also explore cooperation with Helix in semiconductors, construction, cooling systems, energy storage and other areas related to AI infrastructure.

Helix was launched in June with more than $10 billion of committed capital. The company develops and finances hyperscale data centers, power generation, transmission and distribution infrastructure and fiber-optic networks.

Samsung Electronics' semiconductor business supplies memory and foundry technologies used in AI systems. Its Device eXperience division also has data center cooling capabilities through FläktGroup, which Samsung acquired in 2025.

Samsung C&T works on infrastructure projects, Samsung SDS develops and operates data centers, and Samsung SDI supplies battery and backup power technologies.

Helix was launched on June 11 by KKR alongside the Kuwait Investment Authority, Nvidia and Vistra. The company is led by former Amazon Web Services CEO Adam Selipsky.

Helix said it provides infrastructure across computing, power and connectivity, including land, data center construction, power generation, grid connections and network infrastructure.

Nvidia is a founding investor and technology partner in the company. Nvidia has said it will work with KKR through Helix to combine its accelerated computing platform with KKR's infrastructure investment capabilities.

The Samsung commitment adds to more than $10 billion already committed to Helix by its founding investors, according to KKR.

KKR said the capital will support investments in data centers, electricity infrastructure, connectivity and related assets in North America and other markets.

The investment firm has invested more than $75 billion globally across digital infrastructure and power. KKR has also invested about $9 billion in South Korea since entering the country in 2009.

Samsung has announced several other AI-related partnerships and investments this year.

Earlier this month, Samsung Electronics announced a strategic partnership with French AI company Mistral AI to deploy customized AI systems across Samsung's semiconductor operations. Samsung also made a lead investment in Mistral's latest funding round.

In July, Samsung expanded its partnership with Broadcom across memory, foundry and advanced packaging technologies used in AI infrastructure.

The companies said the collaboration could involve more than $200 billion in business across memory and foundry technologies through 2030.

Samsung said the Helix investment will support the rollout of AI data centers and expand cooperation with Helix and its partners across semiconductors, construction, cooling systems, energy storage and other infrastructure used for large-scale AI workloads.
