‘Blindspot’
Will Jaimie Alexander appear in more seasons of “Blindspot?” NBC

“Blindspot” is in danger of being cancelled after only two seasons.

According to TV Line, NBC hasn’t made reached a decision as to whether or not they will renew the Jaimie Alexander-starrer. After all, the ratings for “Blindspot” Season 2 have dropped dramatically from its first season. In fact, the recent episode of the series only garnered a 1.1 rating, which is much lower compared to “The Mysteries of Laura,” the cancelled series that it replaced.

Meanwhile, NBC’s silence regarding the renewal of “Blindspot” may be real cause for alarm. Last year, the new show was renewed for a second season just two months after it was launched. NBC’s decision made “Blindspot” the first new fall series to snag a second season. At that time, the show averaged approximately 8.7 million viewers per week and received a 2.4 rating.

While speaking with TV Line, NBC entertainment president Jennifer Salke expressed her happiness over the success of the series. “We are over the moon with the success of ‘Blindspot,’ and want to thank our producers and amazing cast for creating one of the most riveting shows on television,” she said.

In other news, “Blindspot” Season 2 is on a short hiatus and will return with new episodes on Jan. 4 at 8 p.m. EST. In episode 11, another mole for Sandstorm will be named. According to the synopsis, one of the operatives working with Jane Doe and Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) has been disguising himself or herself as an innocent person.

Other than the revelation of the second mole, Jane would also have to deal with her brother, Roman (Luke Mitchell). According to executive producer Alex Berger, the only way for Jane and Kurt to stop Sandstorm is by recovering Roman’s memories. “But if he remembers her injecting him with ZIP, erasing his memory, it will tear them apart,” he said in reference to Jane.
