Charlotte Bobcats forward Tyrus Thomas has been suspended by the NBA for one game without pay for elbowing an opponent in the head, the league said on Monday.

Thomas, who leads Charlotte in blocked shots per game, was ejected late in his team's 88-81 loss on Saturday when he elbowed Emeka Okafor of the New Orleans Hornets.

The league said Thomas will serve his suspension when Charlotte visit the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday.
