U.S. stocks fell on Friday as a production halt at Boeing Co , a Dow component, pressured the index, as investors awaited consumer sentiment data for more insight into the state of the economy.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was down 30.61 points, or 0.33 percent, at 9,367.58. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was down 3.05 points, or 0.30 percent, at 1,009.68. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was down 9.05 points, or 0.45 percent, at 2,000.30.
