The trio appeared to have had a great time during their visit. Cornell’s son, Christopher, was especially thrilled to attend the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Pitt, 52, connected with his friend’s children as if "he were a godfather or uncle to them," according to E! Online. Since the Oscar-nominated actor has six kids of his own with Angelina Jolie, this type of interaction is not surprising.

"Brad and Chris were very close," a source shared with Entertainment Tonight Online of the outing. "Brad wanted to be supportive of [Cornell's wife] Vicky and the kids."

Naturally, close friends and family of the Soundgarden singer have had a hard time processing his recent passing. Pitt alongside Pharell Williams, Christian Bale, Dave Navaro, Courtney Love, and Josh Brolin were among the many famous faces that attended last week’s funeral at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. While there weren’t any apparent warning signs leading up to the unfortunate event, Cornell’s death was ruled as a suicide.

"Nobody saw this coming, his band mates didn't see this coming. It's totally out of character for the Chris that I've known and worked with for the last 10 years," Ron Laffitte, Cornell’s manager, told CNN. "It's incredibly bizarre. I have to think that something threw him off the tracks ... he must have been out of his right mind."

According to Daily Mail, his wife — Vicky Cornell — was also in attendance alongside their children. The three wore traditional black. Cornell’s daughter Lillian from a previous marriage made an appearance, too.

Dr. Eric Esrailian, a longtime friend of the rocker who also spoke at his funeral, shared with CNN how much Cornell cared about his children and family.

"He always was focused on his children and his wife," Esrailian said. "Chris was the center of [Vicky's] world and the world of her children. Everything revolved around Chris because he was such a great, fun, funny person."

According to Alternative Nation, fellow Soundgarden member Kim Thayil also wanted to provide comfort to his bandmate’s children. At last week’s funeral, Thayil shared an important and thoughtful message to Cornell’s children during his speech.

"He had wonderful words for Chris’ kids, as did each and every one who spoke. Those kids have such a fantastic support system of "uncles,'" Brett Buchanan, a funeral attendee and owner of, Alternative Nation wrote. "He told them how someday when they are a bit older he will tell them some of "those stories.'"

Eulogies were also given by Brolin, Tom Morello, and Matt Cameron.
