Bristol Palin is clearing the air about her pregnancy a couple of days after making the initial announcement. Following backlash and criticism, the 24-year-old daughter of former Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin posted a new message on her blog for all her supporters and haters.

While her first message on June 25 was titled “Big News,” she titled her follow up on Sunday “My Little Blessing.” Palin shared an ultrasound photo, and revealed that she does not “regret” the pregnancy or see it as a “disappointment.”

“This pregnancy was actually planned,” she explained. “Everyone knows I wanted more kids, to have a bigger family. Believing I was heading that way, I got ahead of myself. Things didn’t go as planned, but life keeps going. Life moves on.”

Although Palin has not mentioned the name of the baby’s father, she appears to be hinting that she was planning a family with her now ex-fiancé, Marine Corps veteran Dakota Meyer. Palin and Meyer got engaged in March and were supposed to wed on May 23. Sarah Palin announced a couple days before the nuptials that the couple canceled the ceremony. However, the two reportedly still gathered with their families on the day of their wedding for a barbeque to “celebrate life.”

Meyer has not commented on Palin’s pregnancy, but on Friday he did post a message on Twitter saying that the recent terrorist attacks were being “overshadowed by the dog and pony show being put on here domestically by some politicians and mass media.”

Palin continued in her blog post that she never planned on having an abortion, and that she’s always been pro-choice – something that she’s been vocal about since her first pregnancy in 2008 at the age of 17.

“I know you remember me most from when Mom ran for Vice President,” she added. “However, I’m not 17 anymore, I am 24. I’ve been employed at the same doctor’s office for over six years now; I own a home; I have a well-rounded, beautiful son.”

She concluded that it’s “not the ideal situation,” but that people need to “deal with it.”

Bristol Palin already has one son, Tripp, who she shares with ex-fiancé Levi Johnston. Click HERE to see the ultrasound photo and read her full blog post.
