British Airways will remodel its JFK terminal during an 18-month, $30 million project, the company said on Wednesday.

The project will create a premium check-in pavilion, an enhanced and dedicated check-in area, and renovation of terraces, and lounges.

The design will also pursue environmentally friendly design through a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.

The construction will begin shortly. The airline currently operates eight daily flights between New York's JFK and London. It also provides a daily flight between JFK and Manchester.
