Lighter than air? Lenovo has unveiled a slim new laptop targeting customers who think that even Apple’s MacBook Air is too heavy. The Chinese company's Yoga 3 Pro, at 2.6 pounds (1.2kg), weighs in just a bit less than the Air’s 2.96 pounds (1.3kg).

The computer was announced at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas as part of the new Lenovo LaVie Z series, which also includes a clamshell laptop weighing 1.72 pounds (0.7kg).

Lenovo also debuted two new smartphones as well as a product known as AnyPen, which allows users to write on the glass screen with any real pen.

The Yoga 3 comes in two different sizes, 11.6 inches (which comes with an Intel Core M processor) and 14 inches (available with either a Core i5 or i7 chip). The screen on both models rotates 360 degrees and makes it possible to use the computer as a laptop or a tablet.

The display resolution on both models is 1920 x 1080. Both are scheduled to be released in March starting at $799 and $979, respectively.
