A Houston Rockets fan picked a strange time to ask star Rockets forward Chandler Parsons for his autograph.

The encounter occurred on Monday before the Rockets game against the San Antonio Spurs, the Houston Chronicle reported. Parsons, 25, was driving to the game at the Toyota Center when he got into a car accident with a woman who happened to be a fan.

“She said she ran a red light and it was her fault,” Parsons told the newspaper. “She had a little car, so it kind of messed up the front bumper of my car. She was OK. Asked me to sign her insurance card.”

Neither Parsons nor the autograph-seeking woman was injured in the crash. However, the car accident caused the Rockets sharpshooter to be late for his pregame treatment of the minor wrist and back injuries he sustained in the team’s April 11 game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Still, Parsons was able to recover in time to play in Monday night’s game against the Spurs. He was a key contributor in the contest, scoring a team-high 21 points and grabbing seven rebounds in the Rockets’ 104-98 victory.

It’s unclear if the woman who sought Parson’s autograph after the car accident also attended the game.
