Ten-man Chelsea eased past Swansea City 4-1 at Stamford Bridge, after Fernando Torres scored and then got sent off.

The Spaniard's displays on the pitch seem to have taken a turn for the better in recent games. He scored his second goal in as many games after taking down Juan Mata's chipped ball before striking on the turn. It should be noted that he didn't linger on the morale-crushing miss against United last week.

Torres then played a role in Chelsea's second, threading one through into space for Ashley Cole who subsequently found Ramires with a diagonal ball. The Brazilian made no mistake in finishing, and Chelsea were soaring.

However, Torres then jumped into a needless two-footed lunge on Mark Gower near the half-way line, and although there was minimal contact, Mike Dean's red card was not heavily contested. Replays suggested it was a typical forward's tackle but it was violent all the same.

In the second half, there were a few nervy moments for the home side. Swansea came close to scoring when Nathan Dyer struck the bar. However, Chelsea killed any lingering hope for Swansea when Ramires scored his second of the game.

Ashley Williams then headed in at the far post for Swansea, but Didier Drogba, on his come back after recovering from concussion, scored with sublime strike.
