With the January transfer window around the corner, London heavyweight Chelsea have reportedly shown interest in Barcelona B's Brazilian-born Spanish starlet Rafa Alcantara

Rafa, popularly known as Rafinha, is the younger brother of Barcelona star Thiago Alcantara. He played alongside Spaniard Oriol Romeu, for the Barcelona youth team before the latter moved to Chelsea last summer.

The player is reportedly unnerved by talk about him leaving the club and has refused to pay attention to such stories. Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas, it is understood however, will do all he can to lure the player away.

Rafinha has declared that his primary interest, at the moment, is to renew his contract with Barca and that the club and he are closing in on a deal, according to a tribalfootball report.

The youngster made his first team debut in Nov. of this year, when he came on for Cesc Fabregas, in 1-0 away win against CE L'Hospitalet, for the season's Spanish Cup.

He has made a total of 20 appearances for the Barcelona B side and has managed to score six times.
