According to reports, it has been confirmed that French Ligue 1 side, Marseille, will make a move for Chelsea's disgruntled Ivorian striker, Salomon Kalou, who is considering a move out of Stamford Bridge once the January transfer window opens.

Additionally, it is also believed that the club could look to bring Kalou in on a loan deal, at least initially, giving the French outfit a chance to test Kalou, 26, before placing the offer of a permanent switch on the table.

Kalou's existing deal with the London club will end in the summer of 2012, which means that Chelsea will not be due any compensation should he then leave. Although there are reports the club will offer him a new deal, the chances of him staying seem limited, particularly since he wants to be guaranteed more playing time.

Apparently Salomon Kalou has also drawn interest from London rivals Arsenal, according to a TalkSport report.
